Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed to Him we shall return.
The passing of Dr. Mohammad Ali Okhovat, a valued member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Critical Analysis of Judicial Decisions, during these days of mourning for Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) has brought profound sorrow to all of us.
The loss of such a distinguished scholar and jurist—whose integrity, humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to justice earned him the admiration of colleagues and the legal community—is deeply felt. Individuals of his character and caliber are rare, and their absence leaves a lasting void.
Dr. Okhovat was among the Journal's most dedicated, conscientious, and active Editorial Board members. His scholarly insight, sound judgment, and sincere support played an important role in advancing the Journal's academic mission. His contributions to legal scholarship and to the administration of justice will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
While we mourn this great loss, we also find comfort in the enduring truth that a person's noble character, honorable service, and lasting contributions continue to inspire long after they are gone. Dr. Okhovat's legacy of integrity, scholarship, and devotion to justice will remain a source of inspiration for future generations.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, the distinguished members of the Editorial Board, and the entire legal and judicial community. We pray that Almighty God grants him His boundless mercy, the highest ranks in the Hereafter, and eternal peace.
May his memory remain forever honored.
