The science of law seeks to recognize, create and manage legal facts (including human, social, experiential facts, etc.); At the heart of such a process, there are legal theories that are responsible for ordering legal data. The birth, life, growth, decline and abandonment of a legal theory also depends on the theorist and the surrounding developments. The deeper, more precise, realistic, forward-looking, methodical and convincing the theorizing is, the more efficient the science of law becomes. The central concern of the present article is examination of some of the most important features of Professor Jafari Langroudi's thinking and a brief identification of his general and specific theories. However, beyond the apparent content found in this article, the author also seeks to draw the reader's attention to a hidden subject which, ironically, is more comprehensive, fundamental and important. And that is, that the thought of great legal thinkers should not be sought solely in realm of the technical legal points and opinion expressed by them. Rather, it is possible to understand the essence of their thought only when the intellectual bases and paradigms that support, identify and guide those thoughts are understood, as well as the characteristics of thinking, stylistics and nature of the various theories proposed by them are examined.Based on this, it can be said that the paradigmatic, methodological and theoretical studies of domestic law thinkers are some of the first steps towards identifying, discovering or creating an "Iranian legal theory".
